This past Christmas Eve, we gathered once again to honor the legacy of Harriet Tubman and her unwavering spirit of freedom during our 4th Annual Christmas Eve Walk with Harriet. The event was a moving tribute to her courage and resilience, as we walked in her footsteps along paths that hold the echoes of history. It was the perfect way to end 2024 as we continue to walk with Harriet into 2025.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us this year, from our local community to visitors who traveled to be part of this special occasion. Your presence and support make this event a powerful reminder of the strength and determination that Harriet embodied, inspiring us all to carry her legacy forward.

If you couldn’t join us this year, don’t worry—plans are already underway for next year’s 5th Annual Christmas Eve Walk with Harriet! Be sure to mark your calendars and add this meaningful experience to your 2025 to-do list.

In the meantime, take a moment to enjoy the highlights of this year’s event through this recap video.

To all of our museum visitors: Thank you for being part of our mission to preserve and share Harriet Tubman’s enduring legacy in 2024. We can’t wait to see you again next year!

This reflection on the 4th Annual Christmas Eve “Walk with Harriet” beautifully captures the reverence, communal energy, and commitment to sustaining Harriet Tubman’s legacy into 2025. I’m inspired by how this gathering reconnects people with historical memory and shared purpose. As someone who works in wholesale t-shirts, I’d love to partner in creating custom event apparel that amplifies the message imagine shirts for the walk that people wear proudly as walking ambassadors of this legacy.
