About the event
Join us on Tuesday, December 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. for a journey of remembrance and reflection. Our annual Christmas Eve Walk with Harriet retraces the path Harriet Tubman took when she led her brothers to freedom on a cold winter night in 1854. We will begin at the historic Mt. Pleasant Acres Farm (the former Thompson Farm) at 22239 Marsh Creek Road, Preston, MD.
The program will begin with a brief lecture and site tour before participants embark on a three-mile guided walk along the Choptank River. The evening will conclude with a lantern launch in honor of Harriet and all those who risked everything for freedom.
Participants are encouraged to dress warmly, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring water for the journey. The walk takes place outdoors and will proceed in cold weather conditions, so please plan accordingly.
