About the event
After learning that Elizabeth Brodess planned to sell Harriet Tubman's kinfolk, she made her way back to the Thompson Farm in Poplar Neck in Caroline County to free her brothers Ben, Henry, and Robert on Christmas Eve of 1854. Now you have the wonderful opportunity to join the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center during the 2nd Annual Walking With Harriet Christmas Eve Escape to learn about it and experience it (partionally) first hand. We will be walking the grounds of the Mt. Pleasant Acres Farm, formerly known as the Thompson's Farm, for a distance of 3 miles. During so you'll recieve a wonderful lecture about this momentous occasion in history. The event includes refreshments, which will be served at the end of the walk. Tickets are donations solely benefiting the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center, which is a non-profit organization. Kids are free, with two paying adults, and encouraged to join.Â
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns always feel free to reach out to us.
